Can you believe it? I've been a loyal gym-goer for almost a year now! And guess what? Not a single morning did I wake up feeling like a superhero, ready to crush my workout. Even with my gym clothes laid out and bag packed, the motivation just hit snooze!

Why on earth do I keep doing this crazy thing?

I am taking charge and getting up to pursue my weight goals because I am in control of my own body - my bed can't do it for me! Absolutely, I envision myself driven by motivation, yet let's be realistic, I prefer relaxation over exertion. It ultimately boils down to discipline, my friend! I may grumble and joke around while working out, particularly on leg days - they are brutal! Nevertheless, I persist and complete my sessions flawlessly - well I say flawlessly but my coach would probably say otherwise! Oh the joys of being a work in progress.

In my latest blog post, I shared the significant amount of weight I have successfully shed. However, what's intriguing is the phenomenon of body dysmorphia. This is a genuine experience, and if you've encountered it yourself, you can relate to the complexities involved. Despite my gym pants becoming noticeably loose around the waist, requiring frequent adjustments, I find myself hesitant to purchase a smaller size. It's almost like a security blanket - what if I slip up and regain the weight? At least I'll have clothing that fits. These contemplations have the power to profoundly impact one's self-perception and mental well-being.

I’ve been questioned about how exactly I have lost all this weight and I’m an open book, there was no magic spell, no pills or injections, no surgery or anything else. It was all hard work at the gym with a personal trainer and increasing my food intake. Yes, you read that right, I increased my food.

I was literally in survival mode. I used to live off coffee all day and only eat dinner. I am now on a meal plan to guide me in what to eat for every meal with how much protein, carbs and fats. Keep in mind, I do have a goal to achieve by entering in a bodybuilding comp so my meal plan will reflect this.

How incredible it is to witness someone fully dedicated to self-improvement! There are countless exciting paths to personal growth, and I am thrilled to share my own journey and the transformative road that brought me to where I stand today!

So, you're looking to absorb some wisdom from yours truly, huh? Well, here are a few nifty pointers to kick things off:

  • Slow progress is better than no progress.

  • When you have a clear vision of your goal, it’s easier to take the first step toward it.

  • You need to be stronger than your excuses.

  • No one else is going to do this for you (Trust me, I try to negotiate with my coach but yet here I am still doing my own reps)

  • Eagles don’t take flight lessons from chickens.

Share in the comment section what motivates you and what you would like to read more from me about. I'm eager to hear from you!
